On the Move
Good Counsel has been providing outstanding academic opportunities and a caring environment for 49 years. When the school opened as the first Catholic boy’s day school in Montgomery County in September of 1958 there was an enrollment of 260 freshmen, 23 sophomores and 12 faculty members. From its inception, Good Counsel has been blessed by exceptional leadership, beginning with the first Principal, Brother Mark McCarthy. The school can trace its outstanding foundation to Brother Mark and the first full graduating class, the Class of 1962. In his graduation letter to the seniors, Brother Mark wrote:
“The splendid reputation which Good Counsel enjoys today can be traced directly to you. In the years ahead we will continue to be judged by how well you do in college and in life itself. We would not have it otherwise. In your capable and willing hands the future of Good Counsel is assured.”
Today, our alumni continue to be the clearest testament of the exceptional education and foundation provided at Good Counsel.
We invite your support of this worthwhile effort. We hope you will consider making a financial contribution today to Good Counsel's Capital Campaign. Your support and prayers are greatly appreciated.
